キリスト教、ユダヤ教、イスラム教の礼拝施設が並び立つ「アブラハム・ファミリー・ハウス」が2022年中に完成

2019年2月4日に、ローマ教皇とイスラム教のグランド・イマーム（イスラム法学者の最高位）の間で「世界平和と共生のための人類の兄弟愛に関する文書」、別名アブダビ宣言が調印された（記事「アブダビ宣言と世界統一宗教への道」参照）。この宣言に基づいて、現在、イスラム教のモスク、キリスト教の教会、ユダヤ教のシナゴーグが並び立つ「アブラハム・ファミリー・ハウス」と呼ばれる施設が、アラブ首長国連邦（UAE）のアブダビに建設中である。完成は今年（2022年）の予定で、この施設の目的は次のように言われている。

アブラハム・ファミリー・ハウスは、信仰と善意を持つ人々の相互理解、調和のとれた共存、平和の道標となるものである。モスク、教会、シナゴーグ、教育センターで構成され、アラブ首長国連邦のアブダビの文化的中心地であるサーディヤット島に建設予定である。そのデザインを通して、ユダヤ教、キリスト教、イスラム教に共通する価値観をとらえ、善意の人々の間で理解と受容を育むための強力なプラットフォームとなる。アブラハム・ファミリー・ハウスのビジョンは、2019年2月にローマ法王フランシスコとグランドイマームのアフマド・アル・タイーブが「人類の兄弟愛についての文書」に署名したことをきっかけに生まれた。この歴史的建造物は、学習、対話、礼拝の場となり、すべての人に開かれ、UAEの寛容とおもてなしの精神を忠実に反映したものとなる。それぞれの礼拝堂では、宗教的な礼拝について学び、聖典に耳を傾け、神聖な儀式を体験することができる。4つ目のスペースは、特定の宗教に属さず、すべての人々が相互理解と平和のために一つのコミュニティとして集うことができる教育センターとなる。アブラハム・ファミリー・ハウスでは、日々の宗教行事から国際サミットまで、さまざまなプログラムやイベントが開催される予定だ。

The Abrahamic Family House will be a beacon of mutual understanding, harmonious coexistence, and peace among people of faith and goodwill. It consists of a mosque, church, synagogue, and educational center to be built on Saadiyat Island, the cultural heart of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Through its design, it captures the values shared between Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, and serves as a powerful platform for inspiring and nurturing understanding and acceptance between people of goodwill. The vision for the Abrahamic Family House originated after the signing of the Document on Human Fraternity by Pope Francis and Grand Imam Ahmed Al-Tayeb in February 2019. This landmark will be a place for learning, dialogue, and worship – open to all and a true reflection of the UAE’s belief in tolerance and hospitality. Within each of the houses of worship, visitors will have the opportunity to learn about religious services, listen to holy scripture, and experience sacred rituals. A fourth space—not affiliated with any specific religion—will be an educational center where all people can come together as a single community devoted to mutual understanding and peace. The Abrahamic Family House will host a variety of programming and events—from daily religious services to international summits.
